
How to get started




Our child-centered and individualized services start with an evaluation that allows us to get a comprehensive understanding of your child's preferences, abilities and challenges. Blossom Pediatric Therapy strives to ensure the family's needs and goals are discussed to provide a collaborative and personalized treatment plan. Families can choose to start with a screener or a comprehensive evaluation.

Intervention
The following areas are targeted during intervention:
1. Expressive and receptive language- How your child is using and understanding language
2. Articulation- How your child is producing speech sounds
3. Pragmatics (social skills)- social skills required to be independent. For example, conversational turn-taking, social problem solving, figurative language
4. Phonological awareness- awareness and ability to manipulate/work with speech sounds. For example, decoding and blending words during oral reading.
5. Fluency (stuttering)- disfluencies, moments of getting stuck while verbally communicating
6. Voice and auditory processing
7. Literacy- skills required to be a successful reader and writer
8. Childhood Apraxia of Speech

Developmental Milestones are specific skills that most children acquire by a certain age. Examples of developmental milestones are taking first steps, speaking a first word and waving "bye-bye".
